There was a dispiriting start for Lexelle-sponsored rider Alex Lowes at the 11th round of the World Superbike Championship at Magny-Cours. Qualifying fifth for Race 1, he was in the leading group from the start until a crash at turn 15 on lap two. Despite remounting, he was unable to catch up with the rest of the field and ended the race in 18th place.

Race 2 saw Lowes determined to fight back. Starting from 10th on the grid, he found himself battling for position just outside the leading group of six. Finally forcing his way clear, his fast and consistent pace for the remainder of the race wasn’t enough to close the gap with the leaders. He crossed the line in seventh.

Lowes now heads to Argentina for the penultimate round of the championship on 14th October.
