We were proud to support a national charity event and host a Cupcake Day.

The Alzheimer’s Society is raising money and awareness to tackle dementia and we gladly decided to join together with our colleagues at Captain Cover.

The term dementia is used to describe a broad range of progressive neurological disorders. People experience dementia in their own unique way, depending on the type or combinations of types they have been diagnosed with. Some typical symptoms will affect patient’s memory, cognitive ability and communication.
The Alzheimer’s Society (2015) reports there are over 850 000 people living with dementia in the UK today and it estimated that by 2025 the number will rise to over 1 million. (www.dementiauk.org)

It is indeed vital to raise awareness and the time has come to turn up the heat on dementia.

We have been kneading, whisking, baking (and buying!) with a big smile on our faces. Everyone was looking forward to tasting the production and satisfying their sweet tooth on the day.

The event was also visited by colleagues from the wider business and we shared the sweet moment over a cuppa.

We had plenty of fun and it felt rewarding to be able to support such a great cause and enjoy the delicious cakes at the same time.
