Lexelle-sponsored Alex Lowes recorded a ninth place finish when the World Superbike Championship resumed at Jerez following its near two-month break.

Lowes made a fine start in race was and was running in the top three but crashed out in the slippery conditions.

The Voltcom Crescent Suzuki rider did finish race two, picking up seven points.

“It was a frustrating day and not the results we wanted,” he said.

“I’m frustrated with the crash as I don’t really know what happened.

“The team worked really hard to make the changes needed for race two.

“If it wasn’t for the bad start I think we would’ve had a chance in the second race, but I lost time getting caught up with (Toni) Elias.

“I’m looking forward to the next round and will be working hard with the team to get back up there for Magny-Cours.”

The penultimate round of the championship takes place in France on the first weekend of October.

Lowes will be swapping the World Superbike race track for the open water this weekend as he joins Suzuki Marine UK on the Solent for the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

Lowes added: “The Southampton Boat Show will be a great chance to experience what Suzuki Marine has to offer. It’s nice to do something a bit different and it should be a great day out. I’ve been promised a couple of high-speed rides so I’m really looking forward to having some fun on the water!”
