The World Superbike Championship returns this weekend after an eight-week break and Lexelle-sponsored rider Alex Lowes is looking forward to getting back on the bike after recovering from injury.

The Voltcom Suzuki rider was hurt during the last round at Laguna Sec but the exteneded break has given him time to get ready for Jerez.

The 23-year-old from Lincoln admits it has not been an easy first season but is out to get back on the podium after making the top three at Assen and Donington Park.

“I feel good although my body is happy to have a rest after the past few races,” Lowes said.

“You learn more about yourself when things are tough and that’s why this year I feel like I am improving a lot as a rider and person.”

“I feel like I am not riding at full confidence in myself and or with the bike. But I know where I need to improve both in my own riding and where we need to improve the bike which is positive.”

“I expect to have a lot of fun at Jerez and get the best results possible for me at that race!”
