Lexelle-sponsored riders Taylor and Tarran Mackenzie both posted personal bests for the season as ultra-fast Thuxton delivered a thrilling weekend of racing.

In the 600 Superstock Class, Tarran qualified in 5th position before equalling the the new record on his way to second podium finish of the season.

“My weekend ran pretty smoothly as I was in the top five of every practice,” the Team WD40 rider said.

“I also qualified 5th on the grid for my fourteen lap race. I got to 2nd on the first lap then led the race on four different laps which I really enjoyed.

“I eventually finished 3rd but went over the line with the leaders and also equalled the new lap record. I moved up to 8th in the overall Championship so my season is now coming together nicely”.

His brother Taylor, who has secured a number of 9th place finishes this season on his Tyco Suzuki GSX R-600, finished 8th in race one before a crash on Sunday

“Qualifying was wet but it went well as I grabbed 6th place on the grid,” Taylor said.

“A mistake on lap one of Saturday’s sprint race cost me some positions but I rode the wheels off my Tyco Suzuki as usual, coming home in 8th position.

“Sundays feature race was going a lot better as I was up to 6th when my front tyre let go and I crashed at over 110 mph on the Village section of the circuit. I was fine but I felt bad as I gave my mechanics a big repair job.

“My lap times were once again only a few tenths off the leaders.”
