Taylor and Tarran Mackenzie both recorded positive results at the latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Snetterton last weekend.
Dad Niall was proud to see his boys both record top six finishes as Taylor came sixth and Tarran finished in third place.
It has been a mixed season for Taylor on his Tyco Suzuki GSX-R600 but the 20-year-old feels he is moving in the right direction and can start challenging in the British Supersport class.
He said: “‘I’m really happy with how the weekend panned out. We got plenty of laps during the practice and qualifying sessions, which helped us find a good setting on my GSX-R600.
“Starting on the third row in P10 filled me with confidence in the second race and I knew my lap times on used tyres would be quite strong.
“I got a great start and was up to fourth, so when the race settled down I just got into a decent rhythm and kept it going to finish sixth. It’s a great result for me and the team and we can now keep building and look for more strong results.”
The result leaves Taylor in ninth place overall in the British Supersport standings.
Tarran, who already has two wins under his belt in the Monster Energy Motostar Championship, was disappointed with third place on his Redline KTM.
He said: “I was fastest all day Friday and only just missed out on pole position so I was confident I could win come the race on Sunday.
“I made a decent start and soon got to the front but although I broke the lap record early in the first few laps the others fought back with bikes that seem to be getting faster every weekend.
“I eventually finished third and just 0.5s off first place but I was disappointed. I now have two races next weekend in Germany in the Red Bull Rookie Cup Championship which will give me good practice for the next BSB round at Brands Hatch.”
Tarran sits in second place in the Moto3 standings – 20 points behind leader Joe Francis.
The next round of the BSB championships takes place at Brands Hatch 19th-21st July. For more information and tickets click here
