Tarran Mackenzie blog: Assen Red Bull Rookie Cup

Tarran Mackenzie Red Bull Rookies

Tarran Mackenzie looks back on his Red Bull Rookies Cup outing is Assen, Holland and hopes to get back to winning ways soon…

Hi everyone

Luck was still not on my side this weekend at Assen in Holland. In the first qualifying I had a problem with my engine which meant I had to use the spare bike. I was back on my own bike for race 1 but I wasn’t completely happy with my suspension set up so finished down in 15th position. In race 2 I made a much better start but ran off track on lap 2 and lost touch with the group in front. My bad luck continued when something strange happened to my chain and I finished way down in 19th position.

I have put all of this behind me and I can’t wait for my next British Championship race at Snetterton and then the Rookies Cup round at Sachsenring the following weekend! Before that I’ll be testing my a new engine in my Redline KTM at Mallory Park on Wednesday.

As always thank you to everyone and I’ll be giving it everything over the next few weeks to get back to my winning ways!

See you soon,
