Lexelle-sponsored Tarran Mackenzie picked up his third victory of the season to close in on the Monster Energy MotoStar Championship leader Joe Francis.
The 17-year-old started on pole position in his KTM Redline and despite dropping back during the race, he managed to take the chequered flag from Francis by one tenth of a second.
Tarran said: “I worked really hard in the break on my riding and it really paid off.
“I felt good all weekend but I had to push extra hard in the race so there was a few scary moments, however,I managed to regain the lead on the last lap and defend my position to the chequered flag.
“More importantly I closed the gap on the championship leader so hopefully I can do the same again at Cadwell Park.”
Tarran is just 11 points off the championship lead with five races to go.
His brother Taylor picked up more championship points with an 8th and a 10th place finish in the Supersport category.
Taylor said: “I was hoping for better than tenth place in Saturday’s sprint race but I messed up my start so the front bunch gapped me on the opening laps.
“Although there was some elbow banging Sunday’s start, my race pace was much better so I was happier with eighth position at the flag and moving up to tenth in the overall championship.
“I set more personal bests this weekend so I’ll be giving it everything to crack the top five at Cadwell Park.”
Callum Bey picked up a fifth place finish in the 125gp to remain in fifth place in the overall standings
Tarran will ride next in the Red Bull Rookies Cup at Brno in the Czech Republic on Saturday 24th before his father Niall will drive him back to Cadwell Park overnight for BSB qualifying the next day.
