After securing his first podium of the season at Knockhill, Lexelle-sponsored Tarran Mackenzie is hoping to go one better and get his first victory at Brands Hatch next week.
The WD40 600 Superstock rider was in the top five through practice and third in qualifying before taking his good pace in to the race.
The youngster inched ahead into second place but couldn’t quite overcome leader Andy Ried before the finish.
But Tarran was delighted with the overall performance.
“I was over the moon with my first podium of the season and have to thank my WD40 Team for giving me everything I needed to compete at the front,” Tarran said.
“I also jumped from 16th to 9th in the championship so hopefully I can make more progress at Brands Hatch”.
It wasn’t quite as good a weekend for brother and fellow Lexelle-sponsored rider Taylor but he maintained his 7th place in the overall championship with a 9th place in Saturday’s race. He crashed out while fighting through the field on Sunday.
But Taylor is determined to put things right at Brands.
He said: “Brands Hatch should see the high speed capability of the Suzuki and the Tyco Team have promised to work hard on engine improvements.
“Meanwhile I’ll take my frustration out on training hard and be ready to put things back on course at Brands!”
