Lexelle-sponsored rider Tarran Mackenzie will defend his British Supersport title with the McCAMS Yamaha team.
The 21-year-old has signed a one year deal to ride the new Yamaha R6.
He will join Superbike riders Michael Laverty and James Ellison in the official Yamaha squad.
Tarran sealed the 2016 British Supersport championship in style by claiming his fifth win of an excellent season which also saw his brother Taylor take the 1000 Superstock crown.
Testing on the new R6 will begin in Spain next February as he prepares for the 2017 season which kicks off on March 30 at Donington Park.
“I’ve had a great time over the past three years with the GR Motorsport Stauff Team,” Tarran said.
“Winning the Supersport title in my rookie season was definitely the highlight.
“Joining the official Yamaha Team in the British Championship is a fantastic opportunity for my career so I can’t wait to get going.
“I already know many of the McCAMS Yamaha staff and I’ll take my crew chief from this season which will be a great help as he knows what I need from a race bike.
“My personal sponsors will also stay on board so I’ll ensure I’m totally prepared to fight for another British Championship. My first test on the amazing new R6 will be next February in Spain.”
Dad Niall, a former British Superbike Champion, said Taylor’s plans for the 2017 season will be announced soon.
