Taylor Mackenzie is looking to build on his solid start to life with the Tyco Suzuki team as the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship moves to Thruxton tomorrow.
The 20-year-old, Lexelle Limited sponsored rider, claimed a top 10 finish at Brands Hatch last week on his first outing on Tyco Suzuki’s GSX-R600.
But the rider is hoping to move further up the standings as he gets more used to his new team and new bike.
Taylor said: “The more track time the better at the minute. We made a good solid start at Brands, which gave me a chance to gel with the team, my crew and the GSX-R600, which I love riding. I would have liked two top ten finishes at Brands, but it just makes me more determined coming into Thruxton this weekend. I can’t wait to get started.”
Team Manager Philip Neill said: “We cannot be too disappointed with our start at Brands, but there is certainly room for improvement.
“Thruxton this weekend is a total contrast to the tight little Indy circuit at Brands, and I think the change should suit both our riders. It’s going to be a tight championship as expected this year and nothing is gifted, but I’m confident we can be in there looking for podium finishes this weekend.”
