BSB Oulton Park – positive weekend for Mackenzie boys

Update on Bank Holiday racing at BSB Oulton Park

The third round of BSB at Oulton Park was bathed in sunshine with record temperatures for the May Bank Holiday on race day.

Both Taylor and Tarran Mackenzie had a positive weekend and came home satisfied despite not finishing one race each after low speed tumbles.

The consolation was still two points scoring finishes with Tarran coming home 9th in race one and Taylor 14th in race two.

Taylor commented: “Although my race day didn’t show it, it was one of my best weekends as a British Superbike rider. I was 0.1 seconds off making it into the final stage of qualifying, managing to take 1.7 seconds off my fastest ever lap time around Oulton Park. My team have worked really hard with me and I’m really happy to take a leap forward with my riding now to fight well inside the top ten. I’m looking forward to our next test.”

And Tarran said: “Oulton didn’t seem to come quite as easy as Brands did. I struggled to make a one off fast lap in qualifying but over race distance my setting seemed to work a bit better. Me and the team worked hard over the weekend so to come away with another top 10 finish was really pleasing. Race 2’s crash wasn’t ideal but I’m still learning and trying to figure out the best way to ride this bike.”
