Tarran Mackenzie will make the step up to the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship in 2016 whilst staying with GR Motosport for a third successive year.
The Lexelle-sponsored rider has enjoyed two very successful seasons in Pirelli National Superstock Championship impressing everyone with his run to third place in 2015.
Scoring eight podium finishes which included four victories, Tarran was always in the hunt for the 2015 championship, his race wins at Knockhill and the last round at Brands Hatch were his most impressive.
Now the talented 20-year-old, who will ride the Stauff Connect Academy Kawasaki ZX-6R in 2016, is looking forward to an exciting season ahead.
“I am really happy to be moving up to the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship, staying with GR Motosport for a third year,” said Tarran.
“My Team WD-40 / Stauff Connect Academy have been fantastic for the last two years and we have strong ambitions for 2016. I love the ZX6 and the set my Team has given me so I can’t wait to get started.”
Brent Gladwin, managing director of GR Motosport (which runs Team WD40), said: “I am excited to be moving Taz to the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship on his Kawasaki ZX6.
“We are keeping the ethos of the academy going by moving him up while extending our values to our sponsors.
“There is quite a lot of extra track time in Supersport and with the two televised races there are fantastic brand exposure opportunities for the team and all our partners.”
