Technical issues and an unlucky crash in qualifying meant disappointing results for Lowes, though he did pick up valuable championship points.
Starting 12th on the grid for Race 1, the Lexelle-sponsored rider was held up by a crash at turn three and forced to drop back further places. Technical issues throughout the rest of the race meant he couldn’t achieve the pace he was expecting, but he fought back to finish in 10th.
That result put him on the fifth row of the grid for Race 2 and he rode an intelligent race to finish 11th, taking home more championship points.
Lowes is now at number six in the overall standings with three more fixtures on the calendar. Next is the French round at Magny-Cours on 28 – 30 September.
