Lexelle-sponsored Taylor Mackenzie claims he put in the best ride of his career to date to clinch a second place finish at Oulton Park in the second round of the BSB Championship.

After qualifying in pole position, Taylor had an incredible ride from 17th on the opening laps to 2nd place at the flag in the 1000cc Superstock race.

It followed up his win in the opening round to keep momentum going into round three at Brands Hatch.

“Although I missed out on the win it still felt amazing to come all the way from 17th to 2nd,” Taylor said.

“I think it was the best ride of my career to date, I’m full of confidence and I can’t see any reason why I can’t fight for this championship all year long.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out on track at Brands Hatch.”

His brother Tarran had mixed fortunes, setting the fastest lap, but sadly failing to finish both races.

He qualified in 9th place on Sunday and was battling for a top five finish in the wet race until a mechanical issue forced him into the pits.

“The track dried out for my second race so I was confident I could make a good job even though I was starting from 16th position,” Tarran said.

“I made my way all the way up to 2nd position and reduced the gap to the leader from 3 seconds to 1.4, setting the fastest lap along the way until an unexpected damp track made me crash out of the race.

“I can still take a lot of positives out of the weekend.”
