It was round 7 for Tarran in the Supersport World Championship, and this time he was in Imola, Italy.
This was Tarran’s first visit to Imola, so he spent the first practice session getting used to the layout of the track. Tarran finished the first practice session with a time of 1’57.613, placing him 27th. In the 2nd practice session Tarran improved that time by almost 3 seconds to place him 24th in the combined standings, while being in tougher conditions.
Tarran made up ground on lap one, placing 25th. From there, the Tarran battled with both the conditions and the track to close in on the riders ahead of him. Picking up pace as the race went on, to the extent that he set his best time on lap fourteen. Tarran then finished 21st after the race was red flagged on the final lap.
After a positive start to race two for Tarran, unfortunately, he had to retire after lap 10, after getting to 21st.
This is what Tarran had to say after race 2: “This morning was quite positive in that when I ride alone, I feel I can maintain quite good pace. But once in the race, my rivals accelerate away and it’s not easy to stick with them. But the positive is that I can do it by myself and don’t have to follow anyone else. Hopefully we have a few better things coming for Most, so we remain positive and will with any luck have something to smile about in the Czech Republic.”
Round 8 for Tarran will be at the Most Autodrom in Czechia over the 28th and 30th of July. Good luck for then Tarran.
