Over the weekend Carrie was up in North Yorkshire at Richmond Motor Club ready for the Reeth 3 Day Trial.
Carrie got her weekend underway on Friday morning when it became quickly apparent that her bike wasn’t quite running as expected. Having these bike issues, alongside some tough track sections, Carrie had to battle through while taking some 5s on sections, but still managing to finish the day off.
Before the start of Saturday’s section, Carrie and the team managed to get her bike back up to full speed and ready for day 2. This proved helpful for Carrie as she managed a lot more clean sections throughout Saturday and propelled herself up the leaderboard.
It was an early start for Carrie on day 3 but that didn’t seem to bother her. Carrie again had a lot of clean sections through tough areas of the course, while also learning plenty along the way. This meant it was a 44th-placed finish for Carrie, but on a tough track along with bike problems on day 1, Carrie can be proud of the effort she put in.
This is what Carrie had to say on day 1 of her weekend:
“Friday morning arrived, I got to the start area, I got all ready, signed on, and waited for our time to go. Straight away I realised the bike still wasn’t running 100% sadly. I managed to nurse the bike around the sections, but it caused me a lot of unnecessary 5’s sections but again it is what it is, these things happen. The heat was also an absolute killer on Friday which made it even harder than it already was”.
Carrie then went on to say:
“Saturday came around and today was my later start. Off I went and I was over the moon that the bike was back to its perfectly running self. The day went much better, and I was extremely happy with my riding, managing to get some cleans on some extremely challenging sections. Thankfully it was also a bit cooler today which made the day slightly easier work”.
Carrie finished off by saying:
“Sunday was my early start day of 9:38. I had another great day, my bike never skipped a beat, so I had lots more clean rides through some tough sections and did plenty of learning from things I struggled on. It was an unbelievable weekend; I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it! Lots of positives to take away and lots of things to continue to work on to keep progressing”.
We’ll not see Carrie now until September when she’ll be in Wales for the Border Trail. This is also the start of a busy week for her in the season as it includes a home trial in Scunthorpe.
