Petronas MIE Racing Honda Team has announced its 2025 World Superbike rider lineups with Lexelle sponsored Tarran Mackenzie continuing with the team for his third season in the World Championship.
Tarran joined the Petronas MIE Racing Honda squad in 2023 and raced in World Supersport Championship. During his first season with the team, he managed a victory in the Czech Republic and earned himself a promotion to the World Superbike Championship.
Last year was the former British Superbike Champions rookie World Superbike season, where Tarran had a tough time adjusting although there were positives to take. Tarran ended the year in 23rd place with seven points to his name. But at the postseason test in Jerez, all signs pointed to a positive season in 2025.
This is what Tarran had to say on last season and looking ahead to the new season:
“I’m excited to get going and be back in the garage with the team. I had a tough season last year, for various reasons, but we had a positive test at Jerez after the final race where some upgrades helped me to feel more comfortable on the bike. So that was definitely a good way to head into the off-season”.
“Further improvements have been made to the package since then, so hopefully I can be more competitive and closer to the guys in front. Our first test will see us back out at Jerez, so that will be relevant after our most recent test there. I feel strong in myself and have had a good off-season so I’m excited and motivated to get back to work and prepare for the start of the season.”
Tarran will kick his season off in the World Superbike Championship in Australia at the Philip Island Circuit, hoping to get off to a fast start.
Everyone at Lexelle wishes Tarran the best of luck for the upcoming 2025 season and here’s hoping for even more success on the track.
