On day 1, Tarran took advantage of the dry, sunny conditions competing 44 laps altogether, providing valuable data for him and his team to use to adjust the bike in the practice sessions and also to help when the season starts later in the week. After a few adjustments, Tarran managed to complete 21 laps in the official timed practice session, with his fastest time clocking in at 1’31.371, placing him in 18th position. Despite this, Tarran only came in just over 2 seconds slower than the eventual leader of the session, with his times getting better as the day went on.

On day 2, Tarran got his practice session underway, however, his session was cut short after a small crash 15 laps in at turn 6. Luckily, Tarran came away unhurt from the crash but damage to the bike meant Tarran’s session was over. Luckily however, not all was lost for Tarran as due to some bad weather in the afternoon, most of the World SBK field remained in the garage.

This is what Tarran had to say on his practice session:

“I was happy with my progress but a small crash in the first session on day two caused a fair bit of damage to my bike.

Then to everyone’s surprise it rained for the second session so there was very little track activity for almost two hours. The time wasn’t completely wasted as we have to do compulsory pit stops here due to excessive tyre wear, so we practiced these to perfection!

We now have a few rest days before things get serious on Friday when official practice begins ahead of round one of the World Superbike Championship”.

Tarran’s season gets underway this Friday for round 1 of the World Superbike Championship with the practice session coming on Friday and races 1 & 2 coming on Saturday and Sunday. Everyone at Lexelle wishes Tarran the best of luck for the weekend and the season ahead.
