Over the weekend Carl was back out on the track for round 3 of the Quattro Group British Supersport championship, this time at Snetterton. After taking positives away last time out at Donington, Carl was hoping to go one step further and earn his first championship points of the season.
Carl got his round underway on Friday morning in the first free practice session. Carl managed to complete 11 laps with his best time coming on his penultimate lap with a time posted of 1:56.948, placing him in 31st.
After a short break, Carl got the second free practice of the day underway on Friday afternoon. However, disaster struck Carl on his 5th lap of the session as an engine blowout forced him to retire from the session and the round altogether.
This is what Carl had to say on his weekend:
“ Unfortunately, we had an engine blow out in free practice two. The luck wasn’t on our side this weekend, but it’s one of those things, it’s racing.
I won’t get back out with a component blowing in the engine. So hopefully, fingers crossed, we’ll be back out at Knockhill”.
Hopefully, we’ll next see Carl in 2 weeks’ time with Knockhill playing host to round 4 of the Quattro Group British Supersport championship.
