It was a stop-and-start round for Carl last time out at Thruxton, which he hopes to put behind him going into the penultimate round of the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship, this time at a very wet and windy Oulton Park.

Carl got his round underway on a very wet Friday morning, where he hoped to post some promising times. Carl was fast in the wet conditions, with his fastest time coming on his final lap of the session. He posted a 1:51.301, only a few seconds off the leaders.

For the second free practice session, the conditions were considerably worse than earlier, with times across the board up from the previous session. Due to the weather, Carl only completed 4 laps with his best time being 1:58.388.

Saturday morning was supposed to be qualifying, but with the weather the way it was, it was cancelled. This meant that the free practice times determined where Carl started on the grid. The times Carl posted meant a grid spot of 22nd.

Race 1 got underway on Saturday afternoon, and with the weather settling down and a drying track, it was looking hopeful for Carl. However, he didn't get a great start, and a slight mistake on a chicane meant a 30th-place finish for Carl.

With the finish from race 1, Carl started 33rd on the grid for race 2. Throughout the race, Carl managed to better his lap times and made up 9 places before crossing the line in 24th.

This is what Carl had to say on his weekend:

"It was a wet and windy weekend at Oulton Park, with tricky riding conditions. I was fast in the wet and was frustrated that I didn't push harder in the free practice sessions on Friday, as the free practice ended up being the qualifying grid position due to the weather on Saturday.

Despite the horrendous weather, it was definitely a confidence-building weekend. We move on to the last round at Brands Hatch next week".

As Carl said, we'll see him next week for the season final at Brands Hatch, where he hopes to add some final championship points to his standings.
