After a short break from the Ladies British Championship, Carrie was back for the penultimate rounds over the Welsh border in Monmouth.

Carrie got round 8 underway on Saturday but immediately felt something wrong with her bike. Unfortunately, Carrie couldn’t fix the bike and tried to battle on to finish the trial. After getting around some tough sections of the track, Carrie managed an impressive P4 and a score of 125. Just after the round had finished, someone offered Carrie their bike for day 2 knowing of her troubles throughout round 8. Carrie gladly accepted and prepared it for round 9.

On day 2, Carrie did some last-minute adjustments to the bike ready for round 9 and had a little warm-up to get used to it. After trying to have a nice steady day on a new bike, Carrie took away a P5, but a much-improved score of 90 this time around.

This is what Carrie had to say on her weekend:

“I got off to an okay start, but something felt off with the bike which progressed as the lap went on. I realised something was up with the throttle/fuelling and the bike wasn’t starting well and it was dragging itself along even when I had the throttle fully closed. I battled on through the rest of the trial and fought the bike around to get finished which was hard work at times. By some miracle, I brought it home in P4”.

Carrie then went on to say:

“On Day 2, I adjusted the loan bike to suit me, and I headed away and just had a nice steady day. I made sure to not be too harsh on myself when I’m on a bike I’m not used to. Considering it all, I could’ve done much worse, but I worked with the cards I was dealt and took away P5 on the Sunday”.

It’s a quick turnaround for Carrie now as the final 2 rounds of the Ladies British Championship are this weekend, with her hometown round at Hooten Lodge and also at Bracken Rocks. Hopefully, for Carrie, it’s a much more of a stress-free weekend. Good luck.
