Carl was back on the track over the weekend, this time at Brands Hatch, ready for round 6 of the Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.

Friday started with the free practice session, where Carl managed 17 laps and set a good time of 1:39.347, just over a second off the leader. After the free practice session was over and a short break, Carl was back out on the track for qualifying. It was a similar story for Carl in this session as he finished P8 again, even after coming in a second quicker than the practice session.

Race 1 got underway on Saturday where Carl started in P8 on the grid, and after a solid race crossed the line in P8, 6 seconds behind the eventual winner. With this finish it meant 10 points towards the championship standings.

After a break from race 1, race 2 was underway with Carl starting on the grid in P10. Carl made a good start managing to jump up a few places and eventually into P6, where Carl would end up finishing. This meant another 14 points towards the overall standings.

Race 3 got underway on Sunday and Carl made another fast start, getting into P7. Carl battled hard all race as it saw the top 7 pull away from the rest and remain within a second of each other which is how it ended.

After the weekend’s races, it keeps Rhys in 6th place in the championship standings and in touching distance of the top 5.

After competing for 3 consecutive weeks, Carl now has a little break in the championship as round 7 of the Kawasaki British Superteen is back at Oulton Park on the 13th – 15th of September.
