Over the weekend it was Tarran’s home round and the one he’s been looking forward to all season, round 5 of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park.

Tarran’s practice sessions got off to a good start, setting solid times, only being just over a second off of the leader. Tarran managed to take the confidence built from the practice sessions into the qualifying session, where again he came in only 2 seconds off of the leader.

As race 1 got underway, it quickly went wrong for Tarran as he high-sided on turn 7 of the first lap. From this Tarran suffered a concussion from the fall, ruling him out of the race and also race 2 on Sunday.

This is what Tarran had to say on his weekend:

“My home round at Donington got off to a strong start as I felt really good through both free practices on Friday. My goal is always to be close to the HRC factory riders so to be faster than Lecuona and Vierge on day one was a positive start.

I went on to set my fastest ever time in Saturday’s qualifying but unfortunately had a tire issue on my second run so lost a few grid places”.

Tarran then went on to say:

“I was pumped and ready to fight for points in Saturday’s race, but it all went wrong when I high-sided at McLeans corner on lap one.

I was pushing hard and paid the price but unfortunately also suffered a concussion in the fall. Due to safety protocol, this ruled me out of Sunday’s races and also next weekend’s event in the Czech Republic. So for now it has to be rest and recovery to ensure I’m ready to bounce back in Portimao next month”.

Unfortunately, we won’t see Tarran next weekend in the Czech Republic for the next round due to the fall in race 1. We hope Tarran makes a speedy recovery and to see him back out on the track as soon as possible, ready for round 7, taking place at Portimao, Portugal.
