After finishing off the Kawasaki British Superteen championship at the end of September, Carl was back out on the track for the final race of the Quattro Group British Supersport championship, this time at Brands Hatch. Carl was excited and confident coming into the weekend to race, as his Supersport 600 bike had its engine fully upgraded to Supersport specification.
With his new engine in place, Carl got his weekend underway on Friday afternoon in the second free practice session of the day. However, as Carl got 9 laps into his session the motor bent a couple of valves on his bike and without a spare engine to change to, it forced Carl to retire from the session and ultimately, the weekend.
The bike has been sent off for repairs and Carl is hopeful it’ll be ready for November as the next test takes place in Portugal.
