This weekend at Donington Park, Carl Harris of Team SBR Racing delivered an outstanding performance in the Kawasaki British Superteen Championship. During free practice, Carl demonstrated his competitive edge, clocking a best lap time of 1:40.466, just 0.035 seconds behind Brodie Gawith of ROKiT Rookies, placing him second overall. With a top speed of 89.1 MPH, Harris showcased his consistency and determination, setting the stage for a promising weekend.
Race 1 saw Harris truly come into his own. Starting strong, Carl battled through an intense 10-lap race, where he emerged victorious with a time of 16:42.758. His best lap, a blistering 1:39.159, secured his win by a narrow margin of just 0.105 seconds over Gawith. Calum Beach of UPVC Outlet Racing was close behind, crossing the line 0.155 seconds later. Carl’s pace and precision on the track were undeniable, as he maintained control and kept his rivals at bay in a fiercely competitive field.
Unfortunately, Race 2 didn’t go as smoothly for Carl. A crash mid-race brought an early end to his campaign, but thankfully, he walked away unscathed. While the result was not what Team SBR Kawasaki had hoped for, the most important outcome was Carl’s safety.
Carl had this to say “”I felt strong all weekend, and winning Race 1 was an incredible feeling. Unfortunately, the crash in Race 2 was a setback, but I’m grateful to walk away unhurt. I’m already focused on getting back on track at Brands Hatch and giving it everything I’ve got!”
Lexelle are now eagerly anticipating Carl’s return to action at Brands Hatch on October 14th. With his undeniable speed and resilience, Harris remains a rider to watch in the championship’s next round.
