After a battling round last time out at Thruxton, Daniel was excited to get back to a more familiar track this time at Donington Park for round 6 of the British Talent Cup.

Daniel got his round underway on Friday morning in the first of 2 free practice sessions. Daniel used the session to get back up to speed and remind himself of the circuit having not raced here since round 1 back in May. Daniel managed to complete 13 laps with his best time coming on his penultimate one with a time of 1:42.811, placing him in 17th.

After a short break, the last practice session was underway, where unfortunately, Daniel crashed on the third lap at Coppice. With qualifying just around the corner, Daniel and the team had to work really hard to get the bike repaired and race-ready again.

With the earlier crash still effecting Danile mentally, qualifying got underway where he was still making sure the bike felt right. Despite the struggle, Daniel managed to set his fastest lap time so far with a 1:42.118, placing him 21st.

The first of 3 races got underway on Saturday afternoon with Daniel wanting a fast start. Despite getting held up early on, Daniel managed to push through to 15th which is where he crossed the line, scoring another championship point.

Saturdays second race saw more improvement from Daniel with a strong race. Despite making a small mistake at the Melbourne Loop which cost him a position, he managed to cross the line in 13th place, meaning even more championship points.

The final race on Sunday saw a tight battle between 14th and 16th for Daniel. Unfortunately, Daniel missed out on the points by 0.079 seconds and crossed the line in 16th and set his fastest lap around Donington Park to date with a 1:40.716.

This was Daniel's best weekend to date for championship points scoring 4, taking his tally up to 7th and up a place to 23rd.

This is what Daniel had to say on his round at Donington:

"It felt great to return to Donington Park for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship This was my second time racing here, and having some prior experience definitely helped—especially since most of the tracks this season have been completely new to me.

Over the weekend, I improved my lap times by 2.67 seconds – definitely a step forward".
