After a trip overseas to the Netherlands for round 7 at Assen, Daniel was back in the UK, this time at Oulton Park for the final round of the British Talent Cup.

His first free practice session of the weekend got underway on Friday afternoon with the main aim of learning a new track. The wet conditions didn't help Daniel either, having not much experience driving in he wet. He managed a time of 2:09.561 and a 21st-place finish.

After a break, the second free practice session got underway, still with the wet conditions. However, Daniel managed to improve his time by 3 seconds to 2:06.612, but still remained in 21st.

Saturday morning was qualifying time, and the changeable weather was proving difficult with the bike set-up. Daniel and his team decided to go out with slick tyres, but as the rain came in partway through, a slight mistake meant Daniel came off his bike on lap 10. Lap 7 was Daniel's quickest of the session with a time of 2:00.911, meaning he started 22nd on the grid for race 1.

Race 1 got underway on Saturday afternoon with the track drying out as it went on. Daniel held his starting position all the way throughout the race, right until the very last lap, where he was then overtaken and crossed the line in 23rd.

With the track now fully dry for race 2, Daniel was hoping for a better finish this time. Again, he held his position well throughout and then made a move on lap 6, jumping into 20th, which is where he crossed the line.

Sunday was the final race of the season; however, bad weather pushed the race back until late afternoon, but it meant that the track was dry and ready for racing. Daniel posted his best lap time of the weekend with a 1:54.157 and finished in 21st.

These finishes meant no more points for Daniel in the overall standings, meaning he finishes his maiden season in 24th on 7 points. Daniel came into the season as a rookie with very little experience on these bikes and no experience of the tracks, with the hope of improving race by race and hoping to pick up the odd point.

This is what Daniel had to say about his season:

"I came into this championship as a genuine rookie with very little experience on these bikes and no experience of the tracks.

My aims for this season were to improve my lap times over a weekend and not be last; both of these I have managed to do, and I managed to pick up some points along the way, which I'm really pleased about.

I have really enjoyed my first season, I hope I can make it there again next year".
