The Lexelle team has raised more than £500 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) service after hosting a charity cake bake and fancy dress walk on Friday.

As part of our support for BIBA Yorkshire and Northern Region’s ‘Walk Around the World’ event for the YAA, Lexelle team members baked up a series of cakes, savouries and biscuits for office colleagues.

As well as getting busy in the kitchen, the team also held a raffle and performed a fancy dress walk to raise as much money as possible for the rapid response service which needs £4.4 million per year just to stay in the air.

The whole day raised £256.70 which was added to the £270 which our commercial director Andy Acton had already raised by running the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon in Wales on 13th September.

Lexelle’s managing director Sharon West said she was delighted to have raised so much for a local charity and thanked staff as well as local businesses which got involved by donating raffle prizes.

“I’m really pleased the team have managed to raise £526.90 in total for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, a lot of work went into the fundraising events and it was great to see so many nearby businesses help out,” she said.
