Carl was back out on the track over the weekend for the penultimate round of the Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.
Carl got off to a great start on Friday afternoon in the free practice session managing 20 laps and setting the 2nd quickest time of the session with a 1:47.896, and only 0.2 seconds off of the leader.
Carl carried on from his fast start by completing 15 laps and coming in 6th for the qualifying race. Carl again stayed close to the leader throughout the session and only came in 0.9 seconds slower.
Race 1 got underway on Saturday afternoon and just like the other sessions, Carl got off to a quick start and was instantly battling it out with the leaders. After a hard-fought race, Carl managed to bring home a podium finish coming in 3rd place, and less than a second off of the leader. To add to this, Carl also set the quickest lap time of the race, with a time of 1:47.148.
Sadly, race 2 was called off on Sunday due to bad weather and a reduced schedule for the day.
With the 3rd place finish for Carl on Saturday, this gave him 20 points towards the championship standings, and now in real touching distance of the top 5.
Next up for Carl is the final round of the Kawasaki British Superteen Championship, and the last chance to earn some valuable points towards the championship. Hopefully, both races will go ahead on the final round at Donington Park to give Carl the best chance at breaking into that top 5.
