It was the 7th and final round for Rhys of the Red Bull Rookies Cup in Misano, Italy, where Rhys was looking to finish his maiden season strong.
From Lexelle, Donald Mackay was there in attendance to cheer Rhys on from the side.
Rhys managed a 19th place finish in race 1 with a time of 27’10.816, but only missing out on the top 10 by a couple of seconds.
Rhys then managed a 22nd place finish in race 2 with a time of 27’12.061, narrowly missing out on a top 15 finish.
This is what Rhys had to say on the races: “Was great to have my sponsor Donald Mackay from Lexelle Ltd join us for the final round of the Red Bull season in Misano. Overall, I had a positive weekend finishing race one 19th in and race two in 22nd place”.
Rhys then went on to say: “Looking back in the Red Bull championship I’ve had decent progression thought the year going from running in the races completely on my own at the first weekend Portimão to the final round in Misano where I was battling for positions. I haven’t progressed as much as I would have liked there but I’ve had a great experience”.
Rhys’ next outing is in the British Talent Cup at Oulton in the penultimate round. Good luck for then Rhys!
