After his highest scoring round to date in the World Superbike championship last time out in Hungary, Tarran was hoping to back it up with another impressive performance in round 9, taking place at Magny Cours, France.

Tarran got his round underway on Friday morning with another chance to get familiar with, still, a fairly new bike to him. Tarran managed to complete 17 laps in the first free practice session of the round, placing in 13th with a time of 1'37.795, just under a second from the leader.

After a short break, the second free practice got underway, and with temperatures rising, conditions were perfect for some fast lap times. Tarran completed 19 laps with tyre problems later on; however, he still managed to shave off 0.6 seconds from the previous session. This meant Tarran placed 19th with a time of 1'37.163.

The third and final free practice got underway, first thing Saturday morning, with Tarran completing just 10 laps. He did, however, manage to shave off a few more seconds down to 1'36.874, placing in 16th.

With the free practice sessions done, it was now time for the Superpole session. The first two laps of the session were heavily disrupted by two yellow flags due to crashes ahead; it was difficult for Tarran to get into a rhythm. He managed to complete 4 laps, coming in with a time of 1'36.414 and qualifying in 15th.

The first race got underway on Saturday afternoon with Tarran hoping to get into those scoring positions. The race started in a manic way with a 5 man crash on turn 13 of the opening lap. Tarran managed to dodge the riders and push towards the top 10. However, disaster struck as on the 8th lap, Tarran came off his bike on turn 8. He did manage to rejoin briefly before entering the pit lane and being forced to retire from the race. Despite this, Tarran could sense the potential out there in himself and the bike and was hoping for a better race 2.

It was a far less eventful race 2 in France, with Tarran putting in a solid 21-lap race. Starting 15th on the grid, Tarran raced well throughout, keeping the mistakes to a minimum and crossing the line in 14th and scoring 2 more points in the championship standings.

This is what Tarran had to say on round 9 in France:

"After many challenges over the past two years I'm so happy my World Superbike career is back on track. Magny Cours was my second weekend with the MGM Bonovo Ducati and once again I enjoyed every minute. Being much closer to the competition always feels better and I finally feel I have everything I need to race with the competition. I was gutted to crash out of 9th place in race one but had good races the following day with Gerloff, Montella and Iannone so left France happy. My 13th and 14th places were solid finishes with a few points in the bag, but my goal has to be fighting for top ten places next time out in Aragón.

I've never been more excited to go racing so a big thanks to everyone that has stuck by me and to MGM Bonovo Ducati for this opportunity".

We'll next see Tarran at the end of the month in Spain for round 10 at MotorLand Aragón, where he hopes to add more points to his tally.
