Over the weekend Carrie took on the 2-day Manx Trial, taking place at the Isle of Man.
Carrie got off to a good start on day 1, managing to complete tough sections of the course with a perfect score. Of the 39 sections of the course, Carrie had a clean, perfect score 12 times, along with 3 sections scoring just 1.
Day 2 was a short day for Carrie, as unfortunately, her bike wouldn’t start on the start line. After checking everything on the bike, and trying her best to get it up and running, there was no success and Carrie was forced to retire day 2.
This is what Carrie had to say on the trial:
“The time had come for the Manx finally, which I’ve been looking forward to for so long! I was entered into the event last but sadly had to drop out due to the clash with the Ladies British Championships.
Saturday morning came around; I had the bike sound tested and examined and I was good to go. It was a long, fun, and challenging day covering nearly 60 miles around the South of the Island. I saw some amazing views on the way around and rode in some epic places. Overall, I was really happy with how I rode, I had 12 cleans throughout day 1, including a couple of really challenging sections, so I was super proud of myself. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it”.
Carrie then went on to talk about day 2:
“I was on a later start today as order flips on Day 2, so I was off at 9:36. I set off and rode the couple miles down to Section 1, walked the section, went to get started and sadly the bike refused to start. I checked absolutely everything and tried to get him running but to no avail. So that was Day 2 over for me before it even began. But unfortunately, that is motorsport and things happen now and then”.
Next up for Carrie is a bit closer to home, this time in North Yorkshire, for the Reeth 3 Day this upcoming weekend. Hopefully, Carrie has her bike up and running ready for the weekend. Good luck Carrie.
