A Captain Cover* director is preparing to run his second half marathon of the year to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Andy Acton is now in training for the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon in Wales on 13th September having already run the Stafford Half Marathon in March for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
Aiming to raise up to £500, Andy’s fundraising coincides with BIBA Yorkshire and Northern Region’s ‘Walk Around the World’ event which takes place throughout September.
“The BIBA Yorkshire and Northern branch are looking to raise £5,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and, as a member of BIBA, I thought I may as well get involved as I was running this event for fun anyway,” said Andy.
“The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is totally funded by voluntary contributions and I am sure we all either know someone or have personally had the use of this superb facility and the great staff that crew the ambulance.
“It was fantastic to raise more than £800 for Rainbow Trust in March and I’d really appreciate it if people could sponsor me again for another extremely important cause.”
Having run a personal best time of one hour and 26 minutes in March, Andy is also looking to improve his best time at Lake Vyrnwy in September.
