Over the weekend it was rounds 3 and 4 of the ACU Ladies British Championship taking place in South Wales at the Non-Stop Trials.
After suffering with illness in the build to the weekend, Carrie knew it was going to take a big effort to be able to power through both rounds. Carrie improved as the trial went on and managed to stay consistent throughout the last 3 attempts of the course, giving her a 6th placed finish.
This is what Carrie had to say on her Saturday performance: “I got off to a bit of a rough start on Saturday but improved as the trial went on and was pretty happy with how I got through some tough sections”.
Sunday started in a similar way for Carrie, but again, improved as the trial went on and managed to achieve her best score of the weekend on her very last attempt at the course. This meant a 7th placed finish for Carrie in round 2, against a very strong field.
This is what Carrie had to say after the event: “Sunday was sadly the same with how I was feeling in myself, but we battled on. Weather stayed mostly dry both days whilst riding thankfully, and I ended up finishing P6 & P7”.
The next round of the Ladies British Championship is not until the 22nd of June, but we’ll next see Carrie in Italy at the European Trials on the 26th of May.
