It was the second test session ahead of the upcoming 2024 season for Tarran in Jerez. This was a 4-day testing session across the 20th to the 23rd of November where Tarran could get another look at the WorldSBK-spec machinery for the upcoming season. Tarran had a little experience from earlier in the season with this bike, where he used it in Misano and also the 8-hour endurance race over in Japan, where Tarran performed well.
Tarran was in action on last seasons bike model, as opposed the new 2024 machine. Tarran is optimistic the newer model will be available for the next test in Portugal.
This is what Tarran had to say on the testing at Jerez: “I’m just loving being back full time on the Superbike, and with four test days under my belt at Jerez I’m already feeling good for 2024. I’ve been testing the best version of the 2023 MIE Honda Fireblade and definitely happy with my progress so far. I did have a run out earlier in the year at Misano but this time I felt more comfortable with an improved riding position and handlebar set up. I’m also gradually getting used to full electronics after five years in BSB without any aids in this area. Our main goal was track time and getting to know my new crew before our next test in Portimão”.
Tarran then went on to say: “My next job is to have some metalwork removed from my leg then it’s maximum effort on the training and testing front up until the season opener in Australia next February.”
Tarran’s next outing will be in Portimão in the new year for the next test session ahead of the 2024 season, with the season opener coming in Australia across the 23rd to the 25th of February.
