Over the weekend it was the 4th race of the season in the World SSP FIM World Championships, this time in Barcelona, Spain.
Tarran started in 28th position after qualifying with his fastest lap being 1’47.379 despite battling grip issues throughout. He ended up finishing 27th after race 1, meaning there was plenty room for improvement going into race 2. Tarran ended up finishing 23rd in race 2, admitting that he felt improvements from race 1 after a small change to his bike in the morning.
This is what Tarran had to say: “We improved the chassis and electronics a little with respect to yesterday but we’re still lacking in a key area, which is something we can’t fix this weekend unfortunately. I was happy with my race but got knocked back a little towards the end. It’s frustrating because I can catch the guys into the corners but then lose it all on exiting so it’s like cat and mouse really. We finished the race though, and that means more data for the guys and hopefully we can make an improvement.”
After the weekend in Barcelona, it puts Tarran in 16th overall in the championship standings but with 8 more still to go, there’s plenty of time for that to improve.
